Opinions sought on exercises for the immobile
Quote | Reply
I'm a time-triallist and runner, and I'm having an operation in a few days to remove a bunion and straighten my toes. I'm going to be off my feet for quite a few weeks.

I'm wondering what I can do to maintain my fitness, or at least stop it from completely declining. Any ideas?

I do have a weak upper body, but that has never bothered me. Always thought that muscles up top were just luggage when racing.

Although I'm pretty light (63kg/174cm), I reckon I could loose a bit of flab; is now a good opportunity?

Well, I knew a 7 time sup 9 finisher of leadville 100 MTB. He broke his hip.

after the initial healing, he would swim like 7k a day.

he got back on his bike about 6 weeks before leadville in 2008 and went 8:54.

thats where I would start.
