Opinions on Rock Lobster Airfoil frame?
Just wanted to throw this one out to the ST collective. Looking at frames for tri (not going for that New Year's resolution of not buying any new equipment), and came on the Rock Lobster Airfoil frame. Looks interesting, to say the least. Any one out there have one and want to share opinions? Educated opinions on its geometry/make-up?

Find it here:

http://www.rocklobstercycles.com/

Navigate through the "Frames" dropdown to "Other" and then pick Airfoil.

Sorry, don't know how to link the picture on the site to this forum -- maybe some one can help me out there?

Looks like a cool design. Definitely difficult to get a picture from that site. Even difficult to get a hyperlink directly to the page with the TT frame.

Different, but doesn't look anymore aero than a conventional frame.

But different.

Wasn't thinking it would be particularly aero (as the namr Airfoil might suggest), but wondering if the boom-tube design might give up too much rigidity. So was hoping some one out there had some first-hand (or even second-hand) experience.

looks pretty similar to the old Javelin design. Always liked the look of those bikes. Certainly stand out in the tz.

That's it! I was wondering where I'd seen it before, but I couldn't place it. Thanks.

I like it. Other than the fact that the Rock Lobster one is UCI legal and the Yamaguchi one isn't... Still okay for tri, but not for TT's (which I do on occasion).

I've met the frame builder in Santa Cruz. He welded a few things onto an old steel road frame of mine to convert it to a touring bike. He seemed like a great guy who would be willing to provide a customer what they wanted. That's my opinion.

Thanks. Trust in the builder goes a long way towards trust in the design.

I have two of his bikes and Paul is a great guy. I am 100% behind him and love my two frames I have from him. Track sprint frame and Aero track frame. I almost bought the airfoil, but he sort of talked me out of it. He thought it was a nice riding bike but a tad heavy. That was a few years ago and he may have changed tubing since the one I talked about was Tange steel. One nice thing is you won't see too many of those bad boys at your local race.
