Oldest Ironman to newest in order?

Welll the oldest is certainly Hawaii, then New Zealand but after that I have nothing. Japan and Australia maybe?

I think that the order for the originals was Hawaii, New Zealand, Canada (same year as NZ just in August), then either Japan or Europe (Roth which is no longer an IM but still the same race!), then likely Australia, then you get them coming fast and furious with Austria and Switzerland in Europe and LP, then Florida, then the ill-fated California and Utah, Wisconsin, Idaho, Arizona in North America. Not sure where Brazil, Korea, and South Africa fit in but the newer European races of Germany, France and UK have each been run 3 or 4 times.

Depends on whether you are talking from the date of the first race, or when they became "Ironman" races, as in, affiliated with Kona. Roth (aka Europe) was MDot, but then left the fold, so not sure how you'd factor them in...

Well, here's the list of ones that qualify for IM Hawaii -- Stolen/modified from wikipedia.

Though there are some others that no longer exist, right? California was a full IM previously.
