Nammy,
I wasn't questioning the factualalityness of your post. Obviously they are not true IronPeople if they don't finish the complete distance. But then again, who gives a flying frack what people call themselves.
Self disappointment is something I am sure they have felt before if they got out of bed today looking for a way out of the swim or any portion of a voluntary and way over priced race. Good luck at Moo.

The only thing that bugs me about the "duathlon" option is the races sell out and those people took spots someone else could have raced! If they want to have a du option, have a seperate race the day before!

Oh yea!....GO DR. TOMMY!!!!!! Hes rocking the bike!

What's up with the excessive Sheryl Crow music on live race coverage? This is the 2nd SC song in 5 minutes!

Now they're playing another one... back-to-back SC. I can't take this anymore... it's making me WANT to go swim.

Trying to redeem yourselves with AC/DC isn't going to undo the damage!

Tom Evans is my new Ironman hero if you all had only seen him at a party here in Penticton a couple of months ago you would never believed he could be leading an Ironman this year.He outdrank us that night just like he is outriding everyone today.Take no prisoners Dr Tommy!!!

And I agree with you about the du-people.It should not have been an option IMO.

Dr. Tommy said something about free fillings for all ST'ers if he wins the thing.

I'm personally pulling for him and drinking coke and eating cotton candy.

GO TOM!

I bailed after nine miles...it was getting toasty. Will run a few more later.

I was going to do only 4.5 miles. I stopped after that, decided that I felt good and did another 4.5 miles. It was a very slow run though. I'm still recovering from being sick last week which really wiped me out.

I stayed with Tom and The Jonnyo at Casa De Desert Dude for Ironman Az. Enjoyed it a lot. Both are really nice guys and have lots of insite into the sport and race prep.

....Dr. Tommy better get on a podium or Jonnyo will be calling the shots on the training rides...although if my experience with training with guys 25 lbs bigger than me is any indicator, Jonnyo will need to gain some cosmetic bulk to be calling the shots anytime.

What ever happened to the Jonnyo vs Dr. Tommy Apex Hillclimb smackdown? Is it being saved for the day at IMCDA so that Jonnyo can claim victory?

I doubt anybody goes there looking for a way out. I think you get there and you're a bucket of nerves. At that point you make a choice that you will later regret or have to justify in your head for years to come.

Dr. Tommy is going to need to pull out a 2:56 marathon out of his ass. Victor had his number at Ironman LP, although I believe that IMCDA has a less demanding run course, which might work in Dr. Tommy's favour. Victor's done a bunch of sub 2:50's, so this one may be pretty darn close like it was at the Men's Championship in LP last year!

Do you know what Dr. T's fastest IM marathon is? Ballpark would be fine.

In any case, this should be interesting to watch.

I think Victor Zyemtsev will win Ironman Coeur d’Alene 2007. Zyemtsev ran 13 minutes faster than Evans at Ironman Lake Placid in 2006 (see times here). Victor was 8 minutes behind Evans when he started running, now he's about 7 minutes. He'll probably catch up with him by the end of the marathon.
