OT Goodyear Assurance vs Toyo Ultra 800
Need to replace the van tires. I've used two sets of the Toyo's on sedans. Best wet-weather tire I've ever driven. Ratings on the two are about the same according to nhsta. My Goodyear dealer has discounted the Assurance for us due to our long history with them. My priorities are safety and tread life. Price breaks out like this for a set of four out the door.
Assurance $408
Toyo's: $328

Any reviews on these two tires? Any tire industry types that can help wade through the hype?

Thanks.

then why not stay with Toyo? I have never driven a Goodyear tire that I liked.

Most racer-type people will say to go with the tubulars, but, the newer clinchers are much improved over the old days, so, there's not as much difference.

Which one is a tubular, and which is a clincher? ;)
