that's the problem...I don't know the classics...I hear stuff I like but don't know the titles...
of course I could sing them or whistle them but I don't have the talent of freestyle ;-)

I'm partial to the "Blade" soundtrack - although "The Saint" is a close second in that genre.

Ted Seems to be on track to some of the older classics.

Check out some of the older Carl Cox sets, my favorites are the ones from around 1997 to 2001. After that the music started to suck.

Look into Armand Van Helden, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Dj Dan, Nigel Richards, Josh Wink

OK... then try maybe Trance Party 1 or 2 on iTunes and listen to the tracks... lost of the classics on those two...

  3. Tektonik - Shine (DBA remix)
  4. Juliet-avalon
Not all new, but on my mp3 player. Great to run / workout to. Atl.

Francois: I think you will like this one. Not sure if you have ever been to the cafe/club at Hotel Costes in Paris on rue St-Honore... They have a great house DJ who has made a few CD's (Stéphane Pompougnac) maybe try a last name search in itunes.

There was a really badass song in Ocean's Twelve that might be something you would want (it's from the scene where the guy is dancing in and out of the lasers). It's not on the soundtrack apparently, but I just found it on Limewire. Look for Nikkfurie - The A La Menthe.

Limewire is great, I try to go legit w/ itunes when possible, but the selection is so limited.
I forget who posted it, but there was a great link in the archives if you search for ''emerald city''

I really recommend Meat Beat Manifesto. I particularly like:

(1) 10 X Faster Than the Speed of Love;

(2) Dogstar Man / Helter Skelter;

(3) Genocide;

(4) God O.D., Pt. 1;

(5) God O.D., Pt. 2;

(6) Strap Down, Pt. 1;

(7) Strap Down, Pt. 2; and

(8) I Got the Fear, Pt. 1

I really like trance tracks with female vocals laid over it -- the voice is soothing I guess while the beat keeps my body on tempo - great for long rides and runs.
Try these tracks for a selection:
4 Strings - Album: Believe Tracks: Fly Away, Summer Sun, Diving
4 Strings - Album: Turn it Around Tracks: Turn It Around, Crash and Burn
ATB - Tracks: You're Not Alone, Ecstacy
DJ Tiesto - Tracks: Nyana, Battleship Gray (Great cool down song), Magik Journey
These all go on to my spin mixes and they prevent me from coming off the bike or trainer feeling like I have a drum beat permanently stuck in my head!
Banshee
P.S. -- Anyone know of any DJs that spin classical music into their tunes (I was kinda thinking like that blue chick from The Fifth Element)?

Well I think there is a relatively new Fatboy Slim album out. Also I have been listening to mia quite a bit lately...first I found her extremely annoying but I still find myself listening to it a lot.

i saw carl cox in 2003 and he was pretty good.

tiesto is cool. so is nick warren, john digweed, sasha etc. nick warren, john digweed and sasha would be cool to listen to if you are slowly increasing pace.

tiesto is prob best dj ive ever seen. awesome song selection..and nick warren is fucking wicked too.

some of the artists listed before are far from trance....
