OT: need lifting music like Pennywise
I will admit I am old (37) and bald. I still like the kid stuff and do off season lifting at a college. I know I sound like a perv. What I would like you folks in the know to provide me are clean sounding so-cal punk bands like Pennywise, not these flavor-of-the-day emo bands like Taking back Lunch Money or whatever they are called. Who's with me?

Define "clean sounding." How do you lift weights to "clean sounding" music?

Young man...you want to lift weights, not pansies. You need motivation, not funeral parlor music.

Here's part of what's in my Napster collection:

Blink 182
The Specials (The UK group)
Devo
Adam Ant
3 doors down
Audioslave
Korn (!!!)
Nirvana (!!!)
Pearl Jam
My Chemical Romance
Portishead
Lenny Kravitz
Berlin
POD
Rage Against the Machine (!!!)
Stone Temple Pilots
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Smiths
Weezer
Staind (!!!)
Marilyn Manson (!!) <- Strange MF
Bizkit
Beautiful Creatures

Good luck,

- kd (a decade + 2 older than you and still have my hair)

KestrelD, that's some solid taste, esp the Smiths.

Might want to work in some hard techno like Prodigy and Crystal Method. Still looking for more bands that have that kind of sound.

Some I did not see, but don't know how "clean" they are -

Disturbed

Drowning Pool

Slipknot

I realize these are not necessarily the Socal Punk sound you might be after, but when it comes time to move the iron, "Let the bodies hit the floor" somehow helps the weight move. At least for me.
