OT: What should I have for dinner?
I have a long training session tomorrow. What should I have for dinner tonight? I usually eat spaghetti w/ sause, chicken with sause, baked sweet potato, and a spinach salad. Well, I usually eat stuff like that every night. What delicious but nutricious meal should I have tonight to prepare for tomorrow's workout?

Thanks.

Three manhattans, a steak bloody-rare, baked potato so smothered with cheese and sour cream that you can't see it, end with a pint of ice cream.

Feel free to repeat that for breakfast.

Salmon! Everyone could use some more fish in their diet! My preferred style:

Orange Juice, fennel seeds, thyme, oregano in a ziplock bag, soak two salmon steaks for 20 minutes. Fire up the BBQ, grill to golden-pink perfection....serve with red potatoes and wild mushroom rice!

Damn, now I am hungry

A Quarter Pounder with cheese, two large fries, and a six-piece chicken McNuggets with barbecue sauce. Oh, and a medium Diet Coke.

I haven't had this meal in a couple of years, but at least I could eat it vicariously through you....

dude, you're funny. you just started posting here like a week ago and now you're hooked - asking advice for dinner!

how long is your training session? i'm not sure that whatever you eat tonight will have that big of an affect on tomorrow's session. just don't overeat so that you're stuffed when you wake up.

your sample menu looks a little big. how about a grilled chicken breast, long grain rice and steamed veggies?

Watch it with that oregano in a baggie. That can get you arrested (and released later) in Arkansas.

I started posting about 2 weeks ago and I knew I was hooked from Day 1. My other forum that I waste time at work at, I mean visit frequently, is a geeky forum and I don't learn anything new there about fitness related stuf.

My workout tomorrow is about 2-2.5 hours.

My sample menu is big. I usually load up on food about 10-12 hours before a big workout session. Also, that menu that I gave is a sample menu and I usually pick a couple of things off of it.

Basically, my diet is really, really boring right now and I am trying to find new foods to eat.

I agree with Sleestack.
Its Friday...you can work it off tommorow.

I'd add another baked potato for a second dessert though.

I finally figured the way to get my kids to eat salmon. I spread a mix all over it and bake it. The mix: Kosher salt, brown sugar, lemon juice, and just a bit of curry powder and ginger powder. Sometimes I'll add a little dijon mustard. Sweet, salty and tangy all in the same mouthful.
