OT: One for the French...
Seen on one of those labels with the French translation of the washing instructions:

LAVER A LA MAIN A L'EAU TIEDE
SAVON DOUX
ETENDRE POUR SECHER
NE PAS JAVELLISER
NE PAS SECHER A LA MACHINE
NE PAS REPASSER

So far, pretty normal. Then there's this:

NOUS SOMMES DESOLES QUE
NOTRE PRESIDENT SOIT UN IDIOT.
NOUS N'AVONS PAS VOTE POUR LUI.

Gotta love it. Taken from Consumer Reports.

(edit: changed 'becher' to secher'. Sorry, I'm losing my nearsightedness.)

"NE PAS BECHER A LA MACHINE

So far, pretty normal. Then there's this: "

If it really says "BECHER" then it is not that normal since it reads "DO NOT SHOVEL IN MACHINE" when they obviously meant "SECHER" (for "DRY")

Classic anyway.

I thought the point was "the president is an idiot" or something like that (I don't speak or read French).

You are right, they are saying: "We are sorry that our President is an idiot. We have not voted for him"

My point was about Ken's statement implying indirectly that shoveling in a machine was pretty normal.

That was from a bag sewn in a company in Washington state. It was in the local paper a year or two ago. The employees said they meant the president of the company not the country ( yeah right). Needless to say, the items flew off the shelves in Seattle.
