How wet are the roads? I have to make a quick game time decision between the safe handling road bike sans race wheels, or the sketchy handling/braking tri bike with the tubular Zipps.

I really dislike the weird hype this race receives.

1st LC racer to T1 is Josh Beck in 34:30. He's 2nd onto the bike given his usual slow transition. F1 racers on run course. Heavy rain. Next up Canadian Womens.

I can only assume you've never done it. If you had, you would understand. Frankly, I'm surprise Triple-T doesn't have the same thing going on. Once you've done that one it is hard not to be part of the cult following.

T1 update. Rich Burke in lead with Bakker nipping at his heels. Both sub 35:00. Danny Stratford from Asphalt Green in 3rd with Tri Gods and Greg Pelican not far behind. Everyone slathered in mud. Rain poundingq.

Sounds postively lovely! The good news is that it looks like the rain will mostly subside as the day goes on. Ya gotta post a pic of the candian womens as they come into T1. Should be epic expressions! And thanks for sparing us Bakker's limp wristing...sounds like he's right on target. If he can ride what he predicted in this weather, I may have to permanently retire from AmZof without hope of ever beating him.

I won't argue with you that several of our racers are very creepy Especially the much despised murphy's law. The rain is trickling of the a bit. Top short course racers entering transition now. jim stafford leading. Eric Waldron 2nd. The biggest losers tara costa is back this year looking lean and mean.

It's very foggy here And I'm told the descent from minnewaska is also foggy. There are about a dozen bikes left in transition. My spotter on the bike course just informed me That john hirsch is a kamikaze Passing cyclist and automobiles over the double yellow line on the wet descent.
