The Aero Computer mount is included, no matter where you buy it. There should have been a small baggie on the side in the hidden compartment.

Let me know if you can find it in the packaging. If not shoot me an email.

I am trying everyone, I promise! We have the data and we have some screenshots we can share, but I want to make sure it is displayed in various measurement types so everyone can understand!

Unfortunately engineering is focused on a new product that we are developing and a new toy vs test data is always more fun to play with :)

Glad to hear you are liking the Versa!! We do offer some spacers which can help level the bottle. If you want to make sure you get the last drop of liquid, I would recommend leveling it. Another tip is cutting the straw at an angle and run the long side of the straw along the bottom to theoretically scoop the liquid up.

Candice,

Is there any option for a longer straw? Mine just reaches the bottom of the bottle (maybe 2" inserted), and on hills I can only drink if the bottle is mostly full.

If you get the torpedo make sure you double check for the breather valve and don't leave the house w/ the hole unplugged (duh!). Otherwise w/in 2 miles you'll be covered in drink and enjoy taking your anger out on your $50 water bottle Peter Sagan style, then leaving it for dead in a car wash trash can. Probably shoulda scanned this post before taking the Torpedo out for a spin, but wouldn't have helped the fact that there was no breather in the packaging. Bastards.

And unfortunately, no data = no sale.

Not sure who the name calling referred to, but if you reach out to our customer service we can send out some breather valves. We can't help you if you don't let us know!

Depending on the batch you got, the valve was either pre-installed and it may have been taken from the shelf (heard reports of this), or it is in the baggie with the large yellow sticker.

We are working on a solution where it will be stuck in there with no risk of falling out - even if you are washing it or accidentally bump it.

Shoot me an email and I will get a couple of valves out to you asap.

I did the same thing. I was covered, and furious. I was moments away from tearing the whole thing off and throwing it in the garbage. I got home and reached out to Candice, she helped me correct the issue. Of course I forgot to install the valve!

I have a standard bottle cage zip-tied BTA. Thought that'd be fine until I did St. George this year. The 40 degree wet temperature made my hands so cold, I could not grip the bottle and fell behind on hydration/nutrition. Something with a straw would have been perfect.

Its one of those moments when I wish I could've stepped out of my body and witnessed the stupidity of my actions. Spandex clad dude on a bike in the barrio, launching a water bottle at a wall with maximum force, while simultaneously screaming obscenities at it. Clearly someone is wound way too tight. The bottle didn't crack until the third throw, which really surprised me b/c it seemed a little light. It was also 95 out that day and I still had 30 miles to go w/ out any liquid. So I had plenty of time to think about the ramifications of my actions. Breather valves, breather valves, breather valves.

I think they made a movie about you with Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson, lol. Wish I could have seen that.

I once had a dog that chewed the corner of my helmet, so I proceeded to make confetti out of it against the concrete.

Gratifying before you realize the expense. I share your pain.

Another person who can't get the valve to stay in for more than a minute. I'm going to tape it on.

Very much a Happy Gilmore move, but in my defense I'm a distance swimmer moonlighting as a triathlete to get my grandmothers house back. After I win Kona and get the prize money I'm outta here.

Ok, for the price I'd expect not to have to do this, but the original tape I put on before Oceanside in April is still there even after Chattanooga 70.3. Probably time for a tape change. Don't forget to poke a hole in it!

Sorry about the breather valves everyone! We are going to be releasing better instructions and tips on this valve to help those that have already bought their Versas.

For those that just can't get them to stay in after following the soon-to-be released instructions/video, we recommend using a Food Grade silicone adhesive. We are starting to use this type of adhesive on the bottles as we build them up here in San Diego. We are using this one and can be bought through Amazon. Make sure you clean the area off very well with de-natured alcohol and then just a couple drops of this adhesive. Allow it to set for 24-hours and it will stay stuck.

Any feedback on if the black bottle gets the water or sports drink hot? Many years ago I had a black waterbottle, and the water got pretty hot, so just curious on experiences of the black bottle versus the white/clear bottle.

Thanks

Hi Clyde,

The black bottle does attract more heat than the clear one. We did some testing at XLAB HQ right in the middle of the day under the hot sun on cement. We are also inland so much hotter than the coast.

Candace, so how much more heat did it attract :-) Like you could brew some hot tea .... or just get water to ambient temp from cold in short order? I get that it is pretty subjective.

I'm in South San Jose, so similar temps as inland SD.

Yeah it is quite subjective. Lots of factors including how cold the water is, the rise rate of the temperature for the day, even a breeze factor! At the end of our testing (when the ground temperature started to cool) it was 13 degrees warmer than the clear bottle. Within half an hour of the start of the test there was already a 10 degrees difference between the bottles.

Local shop has the black one, and I have 30days to swap or return it, so I guess I'll pop for the black.

Thanks for the feedback Candice, it is greatly appreciated! Now if I end up making hot tea, I'll let you know ..... ha!

Great news everyone! The aero data is now available for reading.

Sorry it took so long, we had the data, but I wanted to present it in a readable format vs a bunch of scribbled data points. Slowtwitch is getting a First-Look at the results as you all are so passionate about aerodynamics and the concern for data. Next product we release you won't have to wait 5 months for the data.

Without any more delay, here is the Slowtwitch First Look on the aerodynamic testing of the new XLAB Torpedo Versa system.

Awesome - which local store do you buy from? Do they not have clear available?

Haha, I dunno, there are some races that I have seen where warm tea might have been nice on the bike!

Overall I like this system, I was able to get the computer mount to stay by snugging it up pretty good. It started moving again at a rainy race, I'm not sure if the rain lubed it or if it loosened up but I'll try going a little tighter. I also like the system with a regular water bottle but at my recent race I lost the regular water bottle on a bumpy descent, if I stick with a regular water bottle I may need a different cage.

My big problem is there is no way I can get enough liquid through the straw. I'm sucking so hard I feel like my head is going to cave in and it is still taking way to long to get enough liquid. I though it was the bite valve at first but after buying some plain tubing of the same size I have realized that it's just not enough air getting into the bottle. My first thought is to try it without the dolphin valve (mine stays no problem BTW) but I see above some complaints of lots of splashing without it. My second thought is to poke a hole in the cap, I hate to ruin the cap but I can't use the bottle the way it is anyway. Any other suggestions?
