At my gym yesterday I was talking to a personal trainer about recovery from strength training and muscle recovery in general. He recommended taking Vitamin E (400-800 IU), Vitamin C (2000-5000mg), Alpha Lipoic Acid (25 mg 3x per day), Turmeric (1 teaspoon per day), L. Glutamine (3-5g per day), and Glycerin (3 teaspoon per day). He told me I would be amazed at how fast my muscles recover from hard workouts if I start taking these supplements. However, I do not want to start taking all of this stuff without gathering more information first. Is this an extreme amount of supplements to take, or is this normal for endurance athletes?
