Morf-Tech Bar Installation
Hello All,

Anybody install Morf-Tech bars on older P5 using existing hydraulic rim brake levers?

The provided Morf-Tech aluminum bar ends (150mm long .... cut to fit) are about 22mm OD and 19.5 to 19.7 mm ID with slightly too small Inside Diameter to fit the brake levers.

Looks like I need about 21mm to 22mm ID tubing to fit the P5 brake levers.

Thinking about buying a piece of some aluminum or carbon fiber tubing with adequate sizing but if someone has been there and done that ..... no need to reinvent the wheel.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers, Neal

Hello WileCyot,

Thanks ....

I think I have found some cartbon fiber tubing that will work.

I will know in a few days .... Rocky (used to be with Nytro) is working on it.

If the tubing works I will send a piece to Morf so they can cut some to send to those that are adding Morf bars to an older P5 with hydraulic brakes.

The brake reservoir does not fit in the aluminum tubing they provide as the tubing is a bit too small.

The tubing I have looks like it it going to be perfect.

Again thanks ...

Cheers, Neal

Hello Neal,

Good that you found some proper tubes.

You will probably also need to enlarge the cable slots slightly at the external joints level if you want your hydraulic cables going through.

Have a good ride on your P5 + Morf, this setup is amazing!

Do you know if Morf bars will work with the Profile Design Aeria Ultimate Stem + Hydration System?

They do, though may require some modifications to the hydration bottle. If you run the morf bars flat, then there should be room between them for the bottle. If you run the bars angled up (as I do) then they can't fully extend because of the width of the bottle lid. I had to take a dremel to the bottle top and cut out a channel for the bars. It doesn't affect the integrity of the bottle or cause any leaks, but does affect the aesthetics.
