Looking for an awesome cycling trip location with my brother--suggestions please.

Looking hard at Hotel Domestique (George Hincapie's place in SC). Any input on that place or elsewhere in the US for an awesome cycling trip would be appreciated.

I haven't been to his hotel, but the riding down in SC is really nice.
Another way out here suggestion is Maui.

I'm biased but Colorado has a lot to offer.

If you've never ridden out west, I'd choose it over east coast. Very dramatic difference in scenery.

I have done a few rides in the area of Domestique and its beautiful. You can make your routes as challenging and picturesque as you want. If they take you on Hincapies Gran Fondo route it is really cool. You roll through small towns and then you hit some nice climbing to pretty look off points. The property is nice as well as the inside of the hotel if that matters.

yea I should have specified. We'd prefer epic climbing/mountainous areas.

I'll second colorado. I've done Mt Evans and Pikes Peak (on separate trips). Both epic rides. Pikes is probably the hardest ride I've ever done. The altitude had a lot to do with it. As difficult as they were, I can't wait to do it again.

Check out the col collective website and videos:

Yea we go to Blowing Rock, NC every June and I’ve ridden a bunch of the parkway from there. It’s amazing.

I second the Maui idea. The Haleakala summit ride is awesome. 10000 ft of continuous non-stop climbing over 36 miles. West Maui loop is great. Riding to-from Hana is phenomenal too, but you are seriously risking your life on that road.

I'm very partial to Asheville, NC. Any and every type of road and mtb routes. Also rock climbing, water sports, hiking, etc are all right there. And Asheville is a cool town; great breweries and food.

Don't drown. Don't crash. Don't walk.

Lincoln, NH. Fly to Manchester NH on Southwest. Drive north on a highway for 1:15.

You can do flatish rides or notches, there is a 2300 foot climb right from town, and you can do about 6 to 8 major climbs locally. Lots of places to stay as its a ski resort town.

What’s the total mileage / elevation across those 5 days?

Does it have epic climbs too or just rolling hills?

469 miles. 45k elevation. There are a few monster climbs. But mostly two and 3 miles at six and 7% . Virtually no cars

Asheville is 10 times better than anywhere in Hawaii for riding. I love Hawaii but anybody says it doesn’t suck for riding a bike is Crazy.

Consider the Finger Lakes region of NY. There's an interesting group of rides around each of the Finger Lakes.

Good riding. Lots of fermented grape/ hopps watering holes in the area. Lots!

Other stuff to do:
-Watkins Glen International Race Course.
-Hiking in Ithaca.
-Boat Tours on the Erie Canal.
-Riding on the Erie Canal.
