Litespeed Saber 2005 v. 2006
I am trying to make the decision on whether to purchase a 2005 or 2006 Saber. My understanding is that the only difference between the two is the carbon seat stays on the 2005 versus Ti on the 2006. The 2005 is $1,000 less. Anybody have any experience/knowledge about the differences in regards to comfort or why one is better than the other ?

The difference between an 05 and an 06 Saber is quite large. The 06 Saber has a larger more aero toptube, the aero seattube with the integrated aero carbon post, a larger downtube and the bladed titanium seatstays.

Ouch, so the Saber went up $1000 for '06? Or are you getting a good deal on the '05? I was considering the Saber for my next bike and was eagerly awaiting the Litespeed website to have all the '06 pricing info listed. So, I guess there's no free lunch; the '06 Saber is very similar to the Blade in form, function AND in price. Still a sweet ride though. I just gotta think of some way to justify it....

As for your question, I would definitely go with the '06 with the full Ti, especially if you plan on keeping it for a long time. No need to worry about scrapes/dents etc. on a full Ti. Travels very well too. Happy shopping... :-)

The 06 Litespeed site will be live next week. But please meanwhile don't try to copy that guy on the splashpage.

So you say... so you say... I bet it was just too hard to read on the Treo screen. ;)

But it has and had carbon stays. I can see them on the front wheel.

;-) , too.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain.

jesus christ. i'd buy on '05 just for the (slightly) muted graphics on the bike and wheels. A nice bike ruined by that guady graphic scheme. WHat a fucking horrorshow. I hope you can peel those things off. What a shame....

Has anyone ridden both the 05 and the 06 Saber?

That is one nice thing about Ti - it is easy to remove the decals
