All right - the winners seem set already but you just never know. I don't like how Reif looks.

Lionel Sanders averaged 299 watts for the 4th fastest bike split. Now if he could be just a bit more aero.

How can you ride 299 W at his size (not that big) and only ride 4:26. His aero does not seem that bad. Do you guys think his powertap pedals read high?

Weiss rode the same split on 318 NP.

That's bad news for Diamondback. They needed a big day. Doesn't make the bike look too good.

She's got a lot of cushion. I wanted Rinny to win but now her battle is for 3rd

Ah i see it now. Just so you know, the word you'd use in that instance is discalculia, not dyslexia ;)

Looks like Sanders is picking it up again. Looks like he had a bad patch.

At a minimum, there should be a running leaderboard during the live feed. Maybe something scrolling along the bottom like in golf.

Agreed, that is stupid. With the GPS trackers this should be easy to generate.

Nope. Blame your dyslexia. Chrissie went 8:54 in 2009. Rinny has both the course record of 8:52 and the run course record of 2:50, both set in 2013.

Well those were all on the old course, not this new shorter swim one. So all records now have to have an * next to them. This is exactly why I did not want them to shorten the swim, it trickles down to the actual finish times too..

Suppose that Ryf goes a 8:50. Would that be a non-asterisked performance?

So if the swim was "LONG" and the swim is now accurate, then would that not mean that a record set now would be "THE RECORD" Saying the swim is "short" is not an accurate statement if the old one was long.

Everyone remember Patric Lange? I do and now he is running into contention with the fastest pace. Didn't he run 2;41 on a hot day all alone? Hell, Germans could get the top 4 spots if this keeps up..

They used to have a Leaderboard option in the Athlete Tracker, that would return athletes in order of their place. Seems to be gone, so no way to know current place as of latest run mats. Pretty sorry. But, at least they have estimated finish time, thank goodness for that.

If the swim is accurate now then any records set as of this year are the record and any records before that should have the asterisks next to them as LONG!

I dont know if it was long or not, but I do know the course record. Even if it was a few meters long, dont think it was a good idea to change it after 35 years of being the same exact swim. It is not like ironman is some certified distance that everyone can relate to, it is not the marathon or 10k. It is just what most RD's cars odometers get while driving, or some point they got on a gps for the swim. It has never been exact in any form or function, so I just didn't see the need to fuck with the tradition of the Kona swim, thats all.

Would be nice to have any idea on how the women's marathon is going. All we know is the first mile times... the women's run is probably the most interesting aspect right now. Is Ryf's pace fading?
