Just a general comment.
It looks like many athletes could benefit from racing in Europe to get the matching.
(And of course this can change if other regions will be where the best are doing their racing).
My point, waiting to Kona to meet the best is maybe not the best strategy.

Thx for all those run splits update!!!
Hoffman's 2:42 pace sounds more sustainable. Let's see. Sylvan, can you post Sander's 5.14 mile split when you get it?

i was invited to the first several hoka "think tanks." i knew the frenchmen before they sold the company to deckers. after my second or third think tank, the then-president of hoka pronounced the company "hoka-1-1." i then asked, officially, for the record, how is it pronounced? how are you pronouncing it? officially?
"hoka-1-1."
either ironman (hoka oh-nay oh-nay) didn't get that memo, or they've changed it back. it originally was oh-nay. it's a maori word. but deckers outdoor said, heck, fudge it, it's just 1-1. i'll find out if they've repented.
My wife called them once for a warranty issue and they answered the phone as Hoka oh-nay oh-nay.

Remember when Rinny was only 6 minutes down?
Neither does she. Now at 22+ back. She'll be hard pressed for a podium spot. I wonder if her record will drop today. Is 8:52 in Daniela's cards?
