It's amazing to see the top 20 settling, rising, falling, and shifting heading into T2 - some letting off, some gunning it in - all will be revealed once the bikes are racked. Shaping up to a be a great run!

Going on about Brian mccrystal being cheered on by the Irish and the UK overall. What a totally ignorant uninformed clown
To be fair he raced Ironman Bolton this year and smashed it so is on a lot of Uk fans radar now so some will be cheering him on.

Hope he has the legs to run, looking at his splits he is absolutley smashing the bike course. Faster than Joe Skipper, anyone know if Joe Skipper had a mechanical or penalty? Looked like he was making good progress and then blew.

Rinny will have to run her best run ever just to have a chance at a podium, winning will need something to happen to others too..Funny how Ryf put so much time into her chaser, right about the time all those frontal close ups were being taken.. (-;

How far down was RInny in 2014 when she ran Ryf down? I wrote her off that year...but she is just amazing on the run. Still, I thought that she would have a better bike this year.

15 mins is an eternity. Barring a disaster Ryf will win.

Weiss was 90 seconds behind Sebastian. He's now nearly 3 minutes behind, while Kienle is leading. My statement stands.

I was thinking all along that Weiss must have a big pay offer to be first off the bike. Oh well, not today.

LS fading...but still a pretty big group going together.
Elite cyclists hammering it but we'll see what happens on the run.
Very fun.

I'd be curious to know if German federation has shifted from ITU focus to full support of these LC top athletes who are winning and podiuming at world champ events. Can't say that for Germans ITU right now.

ETA: sorry auto correct from phone.

How they announced the Olympic squad was one of most disappointing things I've seen at elite level.

Rinny's overcome 14min the past right? She's 15min down on Ryf at mile 87!!! This gap will be even bigger. She'll likely have the 5th fastest run of the whole race but it'll be a tall order to make this up.

Keinle is leading but looks like he's putting a huge effort on those last miles. Will see how his legs hold up. This could be a remake of the Ironwar, just Keinle vs Frodeno this time

If I have my math right is Kienle going to break Stadler's course record (4:18ish)

Edit: was looking at the women's race clock....no record
