i just got an update from the course. weiss blew. potts blew. frodo is still in there, maybe 7 or 8 guys in the front group now: stein, boecherer, llanos, frodo, o'donnell, hoffman, mckenzie, maybe 1 or 2 others.

Hugh, thought everyone was getting that free ride in the pack saving all those huge watts everyone talks about? More guys riding together late in any race, = more blow ups. Dudes dont care about finishing or even top 15, it is race for the money or nothing. Let the back half of the field that was never in the race to begin with collect the places no one really cares about..

troy. can i get see if i can understand this? live tracking of this race is on going right here, at quarqrace, using the quarq qollector. yes?

meanwhile we have a competing technology being used for the pros. yes?

in the pro race, what i'm seeing are big gaps in time between the moments when the GPS is in range to deliver a signal back to the base station. is that because it's using cell technology? and the cell service sucks out there? or what?

now, quarq's tech, i don't see any indication whether there's a lag time. is that because there is no lag? or because you don't have that field? or what? how do i know the lag time? and how does the signal get sent from the qollector to the aggregator/base station?

Dan and others. Just rejoining in late as I had a family engagement to attend. Where do I get the GPS tracker links?

So much for DB giving him a paycheck for his cycling effort today.

LS fading...but still a pretty big group going together.
Elite cyclists hammering it but we'll see what happens on the run.
Very fun.

Everyone been watching Ryf on camera for the past minutes, that is what Moto drafting looks like. They were doing pretty good at staying to the side and back for shots, but that was an in your face or side front for a long time. Just these few minutes wipes out $5000 grand of aero bullshit.. HA!!!

Is the pack in the front pulling away, or Lionel losing ground by slowing down. He's 4:25 down now and from what I read 3 min down at Hawi. Can all these guys keep Kienle's pace. Monty any prediction on Kienle's run time. I am thinking he is banking on a sub 2:50

Man. Sanders dropping. Thomas dropped back a lot also. Wonder if they backed off to safe some for the run or if they're just cooked.

He came out of the water late. He still could put the fastest bike split down.

By the way, do you think Potts is blowing up or do you think he's pacing it out and re loading for the run?

2-5min is nothing if u got legs to run ur best imho

The entire event (IM) is like "death by 1000 cuts" and the best race is minimizing all those cuts and losing less blood than the other guy. - Dev

Weiss was 90 seconds behind Sebastian. He's now nearly 3 minutes behind, while Kienle is leading. My statement stands.

That's what I am thinking. Some of these guy are probably thinking that they already biked hard enough and at most will enter T2 5 min down, but if they can re load enough, then it's going to be a strong run and most of the guys in the front group will blow.

TO is in a good position in the front group having not "cooked" himself with super fast racing this summer.

TO look strong and seems he was smarter this year not taking many pulls on the front (for what i can see)

Fading compared to the leaders, not compared to everyone else. I say he lands about 6-8 overall.
