Ironman France: Disc or 404's?

Is the 5000 feet of climbing worth using more of a climbing wheel?

climbing wheels...to climb, no big deal whether you have a disc or light wheels. the climbs are not steep enough really.
for downhills, the disc is not a lot of fun...well, that's personal though...I don't like how most disc handles over rather technical courses and I don't like the feeling when you brake...so light climbing wheels is a lot better...

btw, in the pros, there were nearly 0 discs.

also some downhills (unless they redid the roads) have rough surface...

What I saw (on the internet as I STILL dont have a passport) is most of the Pro's were on road bikes with climbing wheels.

road bikes? interesting. Isn't there a philosophy that road bike geometry kills run performance? Or do you think they cut their losses on the run for comfort on the bike?

I think that Tri geometry is WAY over hyped and has no real tangible benifit for most AG'ers. I KNOW that a road bike handles much better than a tri bike - especially on the hairy decents of the France course. Tri bikes handle like bloated pigs...not cool on fast corners.
