What time did the race start? If its 9:45 there, and if started at 7 with a 2:20 swim cut off, why are there still folks in T1. Maybe it was an 8 start?

It's 8:46 there, they are Central time. Not far enough East to get into ET.

Nah, not dumb.. they cut out a small chunk of Fla and made it central.. must be very fun to deal with locally. I'll see you at 8am Panama City time, 7am Tallahassee!

It's funny. My perception of Florida is that it was always warm and sunny there !

On the athlete tracker with no swim time - assuming he didn't start - did he make it to PCB?

Just got the feed up....have they shown anything other than folks jumping on their bikes leaving T1?

Any coverage of the pro race?

Thanks!

Nah, that's about it.. same as IM Wisc. If they follow the Wisc pattern, you'll get a few still shots out on the bike course, then athletes dismounting bikes in T2, no shots beginning the run, then finishing shots.

Text updates usually give you a better feel for what is going on on the course

Fisher opens up some space

RACETIME: 02:24

ANDREA FISHER (#7) is the current leader -- she's opened up a bit of space on the women behind her through 25 miles of the ride.

Behind her are:
* HILLARY BISCAY (#5) at 26 seconds
* CAROLE SHARPLESS (#4) at 29 seconds
* BELLA COMERFORD (#1) at 3:10
* AMANDA LOVATO (#10) at 7:10
* HEATHER FUHR (#30) at 8:24
* SIONE JONGSTRA (#29) at 9:06
* HEIDI VERAMME (#8) at 9:29

The men through 31 miles

RACETIME: 02:23

JAN RAPHAEL (#71) continues to pull away from the rest of the men. Then we have:
* SPENCER SMITH (#35) at 3:25
* DANIEL NIEDERREITER (#83) at 3:26
* STEPHEN BAYLISS (#38) at 3:27
* EDUARDO STURLA (#68) at 5:19
* JIM VANCE (#72) at 6:13
* SEBASTIAN PEDRAZA (#66) at 6:15
* ERIH PECNIK (#67) at 8:50
* CHRISTOPHE BASTIE (#75) at 9:10
* LOTHAR LEDER (#36) at 9:15

Other way around, 8am PC time is 9am TLH. I work in Pensacola, but my coworkers are all over FL. I just love it when someone schedules an 8:30a eastern conf call.

Proof that we focus more on techno-gadgets than the basics of racing... the guy that just spent 3 minutes trying to get his shoes on; while wearing an aero-helmet : )

Why does quoting delete the post?

Anyway, what I was trying to say was putting on shoes in 46F weather is very different than 76F. Feet and hands are numb, shoes are stiff...

It is quite a contrast to watching Kona a couple of weeks ago. The 50% first timer stat for this race is amazing.

It's pretty boring right now, though. There isn't much exciting about an empty transition and port-a-potties.

Rumor from the Arnge peep page is that they took one person out of the water while performing CPR on him/her. Apparently only 5 total missed the cutoff.
