See, I don't know everything what so ever. I am asking the absolutely most knowlegeable forum on the net.

I was doing some measuring (for fun) on my road bike, and figured out with just a few modifications, I almost have the correct stem height. Here is the kicker- it is a road bike with an 80mm stem.

I have never ran a road bike with such a short stem. I usually run my road bike with much longer extension, but I also ran it a LOT lower, as well.

Now, it is the GT road geometry on their nice Course 853 bike.

Gimme some thoughts, both on the expert and non-expert/personal experience sides.
