Thats actually a pretty good uptake for the women. And a lot of the top 5 taking slots. Only 45-49 rolled into oblivion.

-Of course it's 'effing hard, it's IRONMAN!

Hey, wow thanks for taking notes on this! I was entirely too nervous (and also, freezing in the shade?) to do anything else but listen.

Oh, haha! Either way, this reflects my perceived experience for women's slots down to my age group, but also can't completely verify accuracy.

What I would expect with two different races being qualified for. Until that backlog of men gets sorted out next year, gonna be tight at all of the Kona qualifying races for men. Actually surprised that so many women did take their slots for Nice, could bode well for the race overall if this keeps up through the season. And would imagine European races will have a much higher uptake for the womens too, lot easier travel and cheaper for them..

M 50 - 54 = 3rd, 5th

___

wow. my AG required a 3:21 marathon and overall time of 9:19:55 to qualify. AG winner was 8:42:45! Even with a 15 minute swim advantage give or take that's legit fast.
