according to Jordan, there's about 10 flat miles on the course.

Wow Jordan that number could use some pins or tape behind you.

How would he put pins and tape on his number in transition?

the profile looks like its got about five 400-foot climbs on the course, then a few other minor ones total 3900 feet of gain/descent. Compared to IMLP which is ~6300 feet gain.

The PIP is a fiesta de rolling hills and false flats.
(I say this from the perspective of driving it, since nobody has ever legally ridden on it prior to today).

OK, I hafta admit - watching this race so far, makes it look a lot better than what I expected.
And ya certainly have gotta love the swim splits!! My kinda race!! ;-)

Will be interesting to see how the latter part of the bike goes, and the run...

Guess I should have put that in pink. I get that he has a belt on, but the flapping number is normally a huge tabooo ST

Ha, gotcha. I've seen some riding with their # in their crotch to prevent that but it seems no one is doing that today.

I tuck my # into the back of my tri shorts on the bike - but w/ a 1-piece tri suit this isn't an option for JR.

I'd imagine the Pros get 2 #'s like the AG'ers do?
Would it be possible/make sense for them to pin (and/or 3M glue it, like for bike TT's) to the lower back of their kit?
Then use the other # on a race belt in T2.

Is it just my failing eyesight here in the middle of the night but it looked like they have bugger all volunteers at that last aid station....Enough for the pros but when the age group train comes through holy cow.

I'd prefer tucking my bib # into Michelie Jones' mouth. She's turning into Phil Ligget with all the stuff that's just simply wrong that she says.

Chip should be proud. It looks like ~ 2000 of ~ 2140 that finished the swim broke an hour today.

On that note. Does TJ not ride an old ZIPP? They were saying how his bike is custom made to his specs.

That's what I did at Racine this year. Pinned one # on the back of my one-piece and had that on the whole race. Grabbed my race belt in T2 with the second # for he run.

Who's leading the race ?
Athlete tracker reads like a 10 year old built it.
Rapp swam 41:45 @ a pace of 2:09/100m according to the tracker
Three bike splits are posted but rankings haven't been updated since the swim.

I realize I could listen to the commentary but it should be possible to update the tracker with rankings when the splits are posted

Is Rapp leading?

Paul Ambrose is leading through 60 miles. Tollakson is 2nd. Rapp is in 3rd, about 3 minutes behind Ambrose. You can watch live here:

Will be interesting to see if Rapp decides to kick it at some point during the 2nd half of the bike, to try to close the gap, or even move ahead.

Or does he sit in where he is, confident his newly upgraded run speed will be enough to get it done at the end?
