It will be exciting. I head up there in the morning. The weather is going to be in the low 70s f high 52f low and partly cloudy on Sunday. If that is holds true there will be some fast time splits.
he will not crush the field. There are some good bikers here and Simon will not try to follow. Instead he will try to run them down (see disney). The field is getting stronger and stronger every year. Chris Legh was supposed to CRUSH the field in CDA, he barely managed a difficult last minute win http://www.wimdedoncker.be
first, no offense to Chris, but he is not in the same class as Simon Lessing (although we can conjecture, that without his Hawaii episode in 97, he would have been his equal)...
Second, except a super-bike like Bjorn A and to a lesser extent Chris Lieto did get away from Simon...who in some occasion has ridden as fast as Walto in short distances...
Simon will crush the field and become a top contender in Kona. **All of these words finding themselves together were greatly astonished and delighted for assuredly, they had never met before**
he is not as good as I saw once on tri mag "chris lieto, the fastest biker in tri" when larsen was still racing and Stadler and Hellriegel would outride him also...
but the guy won IM Moo (I think it was moo) second at LP...
kind of harsh comments you made...and really not true.
Half IM Florida 04...seems like there were some fine athletes behind him...like Bjorn A, Spencer Smith, Cam Brown and a bunch of others...2nd place 2' down lessing
IMLP03: a bunch of 'crappy' triathletes are behind...like Jason Shortis, Chris Legh, Ryan Bolton... 2nd place
Chris L was one of the coolest people on the "House of Pain" ride when I first started road riding, so I would have to defend him here along with you Francois.
