*Edit - Haskins beats alot of ITU girls over this format, and she didn't race Olympics. My money is on her to make the podium. Maybe a dark horse like Kelly Williamson to split Lisa and Sarah.

Other guys to watch for

Gemmell - Dude's fast. No idea about his bike though.
Reed - No focus on Kona this year
Bennett - Benefits from not having to prep for London/deal with the post-Olympic let down, though his Kona/Vegas prep may have cost him some speed.
Dye - Not getting ANY respect at all. He's a fighter. I'd expect him to ride like he's on fire today.

Edit: Changed my mind. Flipping Hayes into third and Gemmell off the podium.

Surprised no one has listed Rollison.

So is there an "official spoiler thread" somewhere on ST or can we discuss the actual race here. Haskins seems to be 30 seconds ahead of a chase pack right now.

Haskins has the best position. Now she has around 20-35 seconds on the chasers. Includes Liz Blanchford too. Angela Neath is 65 seconds back and keeps making up some time. Rollinson is 1:49 down.

The chase pack is catching her, now down 19 seconds. Looks dicey to me, but there are motos right there, so guess they know what they are seeing. And how about naeth, looks like she is riding on regular training wheels, anyone know the scoop? Lost in flight or does she know about race wheels?

haskins did not drop her helmet into her box at T2....is this a penalty like ITU and does she miss the last prime?

Neath is in seconds later.

Rollinson around 1:40 into T2. What can she do against the gazelles from the ITU?

Anyone notice Dave Scott's son Drew got 3rd overall in amatuer? Looks like he was leading going into the run, won't be getting that mini cooper.

Did I see the split correctly...Rollison moved up to 6th after lap one and took ~35 seconds back on the leaders?

Haskins still attached to Norden....bungee chord has not snapped. .....perhaps camera angle....gap looks like more than 7 seconds

Pretty sure this is an ITU penalty only.

Got dropped on the bike!

Most likely the difference in not being able to draft on the bike. Even though they did not ride 10m, it still is worlds apart sitting even5 to 7m than actually sitting on a wheel. At least we got to see how good naeth is on the bike, although i still cannot get my head around her using what looked to be training wheels. Of all things that make a difference, wheels are the most important after position.
