Since I'm riding a lot indoors due to covid, I live in fear of my 2006/7 (I think) PowerTap SL's battery running out. Previously I've taken it into the LBS when that happens, but htey usually don't have a battery on hand and it takes ages to get it back.

It sounds like changing the battery is really easy if you have the tool (is it this sold out item?) https://www.amazon.ca/...-Older/dp/B006MX4BI6, but I can't figure out where actually has one anymore.

Is there a way to be prepared for the apocalyptic situation Zwift without a powermeter...?

I haven’t owned a Powertap in years but I still have a bear paw! I bet there are others floating out there too. So technically I would post a Wanted ad in the classifieds, but for efficiency, Want it? Pay shipping?

You can try taking it off by hand. I was able to use one of those rubber jar openers to get a grip of it.

You can buy the batteries off of amazon.
