My schedule has changed so I have one day off one week and 3 days off the next week. Has anyone had luck with alternating high volume week with low volume week? Will get the appropriate adaptations? In the past, I usually worked in the 3 weeks on 1 week recovery/testing. I usually average 18-20hrs week each month.

I've had good luck with a block periodization of sorts:
Week 1: High Volume - 1 intensity day
Week 2: Mid to Low Volume - 1 intensity day
Week 3: High Intensity - 4-5 intensity days similar total volume to week 2
Week 4: Recovery - Low volume / Low intensity
The even weeks would line up well with your heavy work weeks
