Help -- Pioneer power meter flaky
My problems: if I do individual leg drills in TrainerRoad, for one leg everything is OK, but with the other leg cadence and power bounce down to zero and TR pauses the workout.

Also, with two legs, cadence bounces around a lot (+/- 5 RPM) even when I am in steady state ERG mode.

My equipment:

I bought a new P3 in the spring and had my LBS install a Pioneer Ultegra dual leg crankset. The LBS told me the installation hit a snag and ended up also having to install a different bottom bracket to get enough "Q" to get the crankset to fit (to their credit, at no additional charge). They did not install the magnets -- but there is almost no clearance between the NDS crank arm and the chain stay, so I do not think I can fit it in there. Pioneer says no need for magnets unless the additional analytics available on a Pioneer head unit are desired (I use a Garmin 520/935).

ANy thoughts?

This happens to me because I use a Stages single leg power meter. Maybe your Pioneer is reverting to single leg mode due to a dead battery on one side?

As per post above, what you describe is what would happen if your pm were single sided. It is probable that only one side of your meter is transmitting or synched with your head unit.
Check batteries on both sides, then check mode setting on the pm, then re-synch with your head unit.
Pioneer has pretty good documentation on how to do all this online, including video tutorials.
