I have a Blue Seventy swimskin from last time I raced a non wetsuit IM (2012) but it's now 7 years old. Given the advancements in cycling skinsuits etc has there been any improvement in the swimskin market in the last few years or will my old one still be fine? Tried to google it but couldnt find anything

All the manufacturers will say there has been upgrades (ie. "Arms-up technology, etc....), so if you buy into that then yes!
But I would say as long as the suit still fits well and is relatively new (assuming no rips, probably only worn for a handful of races/training) there probably hasn't been any significant changes that would justify a new suit.
