Hi, anyone else doing the TBF Gravel X triathlon this Saturday? Anyone here ever done it before, or other TBF races at Granite Bay?
I'm new to this venue and promoter and excited but don't really know what to expect. Like, is it fairly smooth and best on a gravel bike, or would a hardtail actually work better? And, are there likely to be parts where you dismount and run on dirt so I should wear mtb shoes, or is it easy dirt so I can take advantage of the easy-on/off of triathlon shoes?
Also, I'm having trouble finding authoritative water temp data for Folsom Lake. Google says 80, LakeMonster says 76-80, SeaTemperature says 73, USGS says Folsom Dam is 61. It seems like the truth is probably upper 70s, so that leaves me wondering if wetsuits will be on the menu or not.
