Swimsense is much better now that they have worked on the bridge and website. Actually, the streamline site is very good. I was going to switch to the Garmin, as i was fighting the Finis unit during their nightmarish reworking of the softwares. Now that it seems fixed, I like it a lot. The kicker for me was the ability of the Swimsense to automatically give me splits on interval workouts without having to hit the button. Yes, a small thing, but if I'm working hard, just hitting the button to hit laps is a pain....

Work on the bridge was desperately needed. I gave up on it when i had to return a unit 3 times. Last time I just took a refund and went back to the clock on the wall and counting.

I have athletes using it to ease the logging of data into Race Day Swim Score (you'll need to talk to Phil about a beta). For that they are very pleased with it. Also helps in seeing exact splits for test data as well from my POV.

I know what you are saying. I was just ready to give up, and now it seems nice. To their credit, they seem to have done a nice job, even though it took a long time. I had a unit back too, but am glad now that I kept it. It makes intervals, and knowing where I am great, especially since I swim alone.

did you upgrade the firmware? Unless I somehow improved my swimming overnight the upgrade took about 10s off my 100 time.

Maybe a yards/meters issue on the settings? Sometimes firmware updates change settings to default.

The firmware upgrade returned everything to default for sure - It seems like I get to the end of the set before I expect to - most of the posters that observe inaccuracy see it in the other direction, i.e. sets too long due to missed turns I think

What does the update fix? I can't find that info on the link you supplied and my experience tells me to NEVER update the firmware as soon as its available. I tend to let others test it before I update.

I do have the Garmin 910xt for some weeks now and I like the results very well. It is indeed bulky, but you get used to it very quickly. I hardly notice it anymore and you get a lot of nice data from it on you computer. Although I don't know yet what kind of conclusions I can make from the data to improve myself. I have to give that an other look. Some suggestions about specific data in relation to improvements?

This thread is about the Garmin SWIM watch, not the 910xt. Its a totally different watch and is exclusively for swimming.

I have the swimsense and the 910. yes, i like that feature of the swimsense, but it doesn't work well for short rest intervals. It seems to require about 10seconds to detect the rest. It ends up properly calculating it, but it take 10 seconds to do. If I push off before it does it's calculation it gets confused. Does that happen to you ?

I can't say that I've done any recent workouts with less than 10 or 15 seconds, so I wouldn't know. But with the improvements, I do like the swimsense quite a bit.
