Future of road bike levers
With electronic shifting and hydraulic brakes becoming the norm , how much longer before some one totally rethinks the road bike levers?

Seems like buttons and some type of squeeze bulb could replace the old thoughts of cables that needed to be pulled.

I’m sure the marketing guys could come up with all kinds of advantages for a total rethink of the road levers

.. the first place where some marketing guys would rethink [principles of] the wheel is in the bicycle industry .. the best way to have a problem is .. to buy it .. ;-)

Unless hands evolve into something different in a very short time then I predict levers will look a lot like they do now for years to come.

Personally I’d like to see drop bar levers and the bars themselves to become more integrated, rather then strapped on to a curly bar as an afterthought.
