For those in the Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley area: A New Tri Club
Quote | Reply
Rich Strauss of www.cruciblefitness.com is starting a new tri club. I am trying to help him get it going as we live within blocks of each other and train together frequently. We have had an informal meeting(about 20 people) and one formal one(about 25) but we really haven't fully spread the word yet. We believe there is a large population of triathletes that are not truly serviced by either the LA Tri Club(almost all of their group workouts and meetings are near the beach-not convenient at all for those in our area, especially w/ LA traffic) or Inland Inferno(many meetings and workouts are just as far, only to the East). Both are great clubs, just rather inconvenient for many of us.

Info is here: http://www.cruciblefitness.com/...le/Updates/Jan22.htm

www.teamcrucible.com has been registered but right now it points to www.cruciblefitness.com until the Team Crucible website is more fully developed.

Quite a few of us have already been training together and there are many events and workouts posted at the forum: http://cruciblefitness.com/forum/default.asp

Anyone is welcome but the club will be based in Pasadena and most members so far have been from Pasadena, Monrovia, La Canada, Azusa, Sierra Madre, Duarte, Arcadia, Monterey Park, etc...we've also had a few from Glendale.

There is very good training year round in the area.
  • LOADS of climbing with little to no traffic.
  • Two fairly flat bike paths totalling ~70miles in length, each with only one stop for traffic
  • Many running trails
  • Rose Bowl for running and biking
  • Rose Bowl Aquatic Center and several other great pools in the area

Feel free to contact rich@cruciblefitness.com or send me a pm if you have any questions. Or, just show up at an event. If you plan on just showing up at a workout, RSVP at the forum if possible.
