Fire, but I saved my bikes!
My wife and I had a fire on our block in Brooklyn on November 19th. I lost a lot of my books, and writings, my wife lost a lot of her paintings and we lost virtually everything else. We did manage to save our beloved cats, we're both healthy and alive and I managed to get my bikes out of the building...at least I have my priorities straight! What follows is an announcement for a benefit here in NYC, if you're around drop by. I send my very best wishes to all my slowtwitch brothers and sisters.

Very sorry to hear this. I certainly hope you had insurance even though it won't cover the sentimental value of the things which you lost.

That is really a shame about what happened. Glad to hear that you, your wife, and the cats made it out okay. Beyond that, the bikes are just a bonus. Good luck in getting everything back in order.

Dude that sucks. Glad to hear your family is ok. Love the fat your buddies are teaming up for you. I would come but the whole distance thing. It would be worth it to meet Thurston Moore though.
