Favero Assioma DUO-Shi --> LOOK?
Quote | Reply
I'm looking for a power meter for my wife's Specialized Diverge. It's equipped with SRAM Apex1 and I've been out of luck so far looking for a crank arm power solution. I then stumbled upon the Favero Assioma DUO-Shi, which is essentially just the spindles (and you can add your own pedal body). I didn't know they came out with this and frankly, it's an awesome solution for a pedal-based system. However, the website says it's only for Shimano pedals. She's currently using the LOOK X-Track pedals... would these be compatible? I've seen people use Shimano SPD pedal bodies, but not any other brand.

Hello! I use the pedals and enjoy them quite a bit. They come in a LOOk compatible version which I use:

+1. I have the Look version and I've had no issues. I like that I can easily swap the pedal between bikes.

What I was originally meaning to reference was this:

Favero provides you the option to purchase only the spindles (and not the pedal body). Therefore, you can use your own pedal body and, in my case, I want to use the pedal spindle with a MTB-style pedal. I know people have done them with Shimano SPD pedals (i.e., MTB style pedals), but my wife has Look branded MTB style pedals and didn't know if it would work.

No, those will not be compatible. The spindle fits the Shimano road pedals, which use an entirely different set of internals than the Look MTB pedals.

You *can* use this spindle with the Shimano PD-6800 pedal which uses the Shimano SPD cleat standard and will accept the Look X-Track cleats. It's a single sided pedal, though.
