I've searched high and low for opinions on Ergon's CF3 Pro Carbon seat post with little to no prevail.
Help out a green handed guy here and give a good thumbs up or down on this seat post for a road or triathlon bike.

have not ridden the Ergon post, in part cause it just looks flimsy. I can attest to the benefits of the Niner RDO seatposts and their virbation dampening. I have two of them and am very happy with them so far.

The CF3 is for road and dirt road use only. No mtb. It comes in one size, 27.2 x 330 and has a rider weight limit of 220 lbs

"Flimsy" is not a word that should be use to describe this seat post. This CF3 post is as rock solid as any carbon seatpost on the market today.....until the bike encounters rough terrain. The carbon leaf springs will only dampen or "actively" work when the saddle is weighted by the rider and rough terrain is being traversed. There is no measurable travel with the CF3. The CF3 is designed to flex and deflect vibrations all while keeping the saddle in a level position.

I want something like this on my hardtail. Come on, can't a 140 pound guy put it on his mtb?

What's the total "travel"? Specialized cobl goblr is estimated at about 1.5-2cm I believe.

You'll be able to in 2015 when we release the mtb version. The mtb version of the CF3 will also come in longer lengths and larger diameters.

The road CF3 is not rated for mtb use. This is very clear in the manual and packaging. Used in such a way voids the warranty.
