Drain Hole in Ron Wheel Rims?
Just got around to fitting tyres to my new daily ride rims and notice the rear (only) has a small hole on the rim. Looks clean, circular. Drain hole? Anyone else with Ron Wheels can confirm if this is correct or not?

If you can pedal your bike up to 71mph, that hole creates a time warp and you will instantly be at the finish line of the race.

Only 71mph? LOL.

Well the hole isn’t a chip or dent during shipping as it goes all the way through.

My only thought is they have added a drain hole to them since I got the original front wheel a couple of years ago.

The original purpose of these holes in rims was to drain water from the rim, but they're now arguably more important as a release valve for air in the case of a sealing tape failure in tubeless tire setups. There have been *many* cases of rim sidewall failure when a breach in the tubeless tape led the air to escape into the rim cavity. Many/most rim walls are not designed to withstand this kind of pressure, and absent a way to vent the air they tend to fail rather spectacularly.

Ron Wheels have confirmed that a hole should be present in the rim.
