Sell by date or Use by date? Two different things.
If it's this stuff - http://www.gatorade.com/...&size=1-canister (ignore my flavour choice) then chances are it's going to be fine.

As an aside, I've had stuff like HEED and Endurolyte Fizz well past the sell-by date and it's been fine. (I can by stock past sell-by date from the distributor very cheap or even get it free).

I think so. Stored at normal temps etc.

Sugar is an excellent preservative and if I'm reading that label properly its 50% sugar. So as long as it is dry you will be good to go.
In fact even if it gets clumpy I would still use it. The clumpyness is the sugar absorbing the moisture which is extremely effective at preventing microbial growth. Most of those powders will totally solidify into an unbreakable mass before they actually become unsafe to use.

I've eaten gels 5 years past the use by date with no problem. If it's dry powder and unopened then go for it. Use by dates are a legal protection for the manufacturer to comply with food labelling laws.
