Here http://www.slowtwitch.com/...4/interbike2004.html I read about the new De Soto wetsuits replacing the T1/Tres:

De Soto’s T1 undergoes a change. The models are now called the Black Pearl and the First Wave. The former replaces the Tres, and this suit sports something I’ve never seen before in a wetsuit: a tone-on-tone logo. It has a black logo on black rubber. Very chic. Also, De Soto’s sleeves are now positioned differently. They don’t “fit” with your arms at your sides. Their “neutral” position is now with the swimmer's arms straight out in front of him, mummy style (as in the movie). The idea is to allow for a more natural swim stroke.

I planned to buy a T1/Tres this winter/Spring. Now I don't know if I should wait for the new ones.
Has anyone heard more about the new DeSoto wetsuits? They are not yet on http://www.desotosport.com . Is only the top new? Or did they change the bottom too? When will they be sold/in the shops?

edit - I'm suddenly having visions of Emilio dressed up as Captain Jack Sparrow telling us "This is a day we will always remember.....

I've only seen the suits in the catalog but they look much nicer with the new logos. The logos are really really small, almost two small if that's possible. The names kind of throw me off too as I've yet to figure out thier meanings. supposedly the cut on the upper is improved with the arms/shoulders placed with thier nuetral position farther towards the front of the body. Search the net and I know there were a couple of articles on it. I have a tres which I hated. I think it's just a personal thing as a lot of my friends have T1s and Tres suits and love them. Although I don't know anyone who liked the old logos.

BTW, the new zoot suits look nice... I tried a Aquaman Metal Cell and god it was nice, but god it was expensive too. The Zoot suits look pretty good and I can get a great price on them. What to do, what to do.

I wrote a Email to DeSoto an asked the question above. Emilio De Soto replied very fast (as usual). His answers in RED:

And do the new wetsuits have a significant improvement over T1/Tres?

THEY ARE GOING TO BE A LITTLE FASTER THAN THE 2004 AND MORE COMFORTABLE.

I believe the Zoot wetsuit is spec'd very similar to the 2003 Ironman models. I would only consider Zoot once they are up the learning curve and making technology innovations in their wetsuit. Right now they are mimicking others. Some people want to be first on their block to get a given product, but if you do so know that you might not be getting the best product on the market given the alternatives. I view De Soto and Aquaman as being at the forefront of wetsuit technology.

I just got a new bibjohn at trisports.com for $150.00 with the 25% closeout, then get an additional 15% off with the TNO code to make it $127.50 total. With shipping it came to $134 -- that's a great deal. I bought a t1 pullover on ebay last week for 90 bucks, so $224 total for a new T1! Can't beat that.

Are you sure you get the additional 15% off with the TNO code? Have you seen the bill?

In the catalog they write:

the catalog says all tops now have zippers -- easier to sell that way.

So if you want a zipperless top, get it NOW on sale and while they are still available.
