Consensus most aero hydration setup for Shiv
Quote | Reply
Right now I have the fuelselage, BTA, behind the seat on a Sitero, and a Fuel cell(for tube and air). I really dont need to carry three bottles, so which one would you eliminate. I'm thinking the rear bottle has the most drag of the three? It's certainly the hardest to use. I could put tubes and air under the seat and ditch the fuel cell also, but it looks to be a net gain?

hard to be 100% sure, but the rear is most likely the "worst." The BTA is at least neutral for most people, and the fuel cell should be fine if you keep the straw in check.

I think you mean the fuelselage... that would be a long straw from the fuelcell

Between the BTA, the straw hooked to one of the aerobars, and the computer on the other the cockpit is quite crowded. I might just pull the rear cage off for races and use it to carry extra hydration on training rides.

There's so much on course nutrition at races now that you really don't need to carry much on race day.
