I work for a company that has many rehabilitation product brands, among them Cefar Compex. Although we don't make those products at my location, I wish we did after reading the article linked below.

Here is an excerpt:

We're the first to volunteer the fact that we're not financial analysts, exercise physiologists, athletic trainers, or orthopedic surgeons, but what we know is this: The technology clearly works. The scientific literature is compelling, and the money -- in skyscraping, gangsta-rap-video-prop-like stacks -- is following in its innovative trail.
While E-Stim is best known for its medical applications, Compex USA has created ever-greater public visibility about its benefits both to ball-sport and endurance athletes -- two groups whose muscular demands are often thoroughly different.

Used it during a surgery rehab last year.

Made my VMO muscles bigger. Leg strenght did not increase. Stopped it and muscle size went back to normal.

Did nothing to increase endurance or strength on the bike.

However, this year, box jumps and more lunges have made a big difference.
