Coaching.
There seems to be a billion coaches out there and my question is how is it best to get in on the game?

I am very intersted in becoming a conditioning coach, one who focuses on sprort specific strength and agility, and want to do more then just hang a shingle out there and claim to be one. I will leave endurance coaching to the skinny guys.

Any ideas?

get an exercise based degree and a CSCS from NSCA. It is considered the "gold standard" for that type of thing.

There are other ways, but I think this is the most respected.

I definitely 2nd the CSCS recomendation. Depending on what setting you are trying for having academic credentials may be necessary. For example if you want to be a college strength and conditioning coach a masters will be necessary. It is a tough field to break into where often you must pay your dues at very low paying jobs to ge experience needed for more prestigous position.

Good luck with your decision and prep :-)

Actually, if you're SAC you can't coach yourself... trust me on this one ;-)
