Clas Bjorling and Jonas Colting Ironman Kalmar
Quote | Reply
..2 Swedish legends in H40 (Clas) & H45 (Jonas) at Ironman Kalmar tomorrow.
The mens race is agegroup only - so how fast will they go and will one of them be the overall winner??

Discuss :)

If you really want to do something, you'll find a way.
If you don't, you'll find an excuse.

Neither, there are a lot of very fast younger Swedish dudes these days. When you have two months of holidays, coupled with summer houses by lakes or seas then you can get pretty damn fit.

Looking at a couple of posts from Clas on social media, it seems that he'll run under 3h without much trouble again so I doubt he is out of the top 3-5 even if his swim is not as strong.

J has an Achilles issue which meant walking quite a bit of the run.

Précis from Clas’s race report is that he was pretty happy with it, but fell into playing a bit harder in the bike than he should have and lost some time for the run.

Basically, he says that normally he would go ten minutes easier on the bike and save twenty on the run. This time, he did the reverse.

Very happy with his first Ironman in nine years.

My translation was moderately inept, so the gaps were filled in by my fiancée, who went to school with Clas. Small world!

Please tell me that Clas is going to Kona and planning to put down the hammer. Bummer for Jonas with the achilles!

Good for Clas, I wish him well in Kona. Had the chance to ride with him several times when he lived near me. Good guy, he was/is a human hammer.
