Cheapest place for Hed S extensions.

I've finally decided not to monkey around with the mountain bars and will spring for the Hed S bend bar extensions and drop them into my Profile Aerolites. I assume this should work?

Best place to purchase these? Thanks in advance.

If aluminum is all you need--$45 at analytic cycling (don't know about availability though). Don't tell all the guys who have bid this set up to $71 on eBay, with 1-day still left to go! LOL....

Just called Trisports.com and they've got the alloy in stock and ready to ship (although it's not on their website) for $50 plus shipping.

Hope this helps

Anyone know what the outside diameter of these is?

Any how many grams you save for the extra $30 for the carbon extensions?

I'll confirm that TriSports does indeed have these. I have a set on its way to me right now. Gonna try and build up a set of S-Bends with the F19 Profile armrests - should be interesting.

In case you didn't know, trisports.com has an online coupon right now. The categories are

10% off any purchase over $75, coupon code SWIM

14% off any purchase over $185, code BIKE

18% off any purchase over $375, code RUN

The online specials these guys have are really worth signing up for! Now that I know they have the S-bends I have been waiting for, I may just order the HED bar. The above codes are only good until Saturday, 2/12.

Here is an idea, go to an electrical shop, or electrical contractor. They bend conduit all the time which is aluminum. Tell them what you want, they put it on a bender and poof.

$30 isnt a whole lot for those Mt. Bike bars I used. Can getem in Carbon too. I think to pay a guy to bend metal might run you a bit more money right?.

Depends who you know. They would probably do it for $10.00-$20.00. It's a 5 minute job. Just offering an idea over buying a name brand part with a healthy mark up on it.

I had no trouble with the riser mountain bike bar cut in 2. I was scared about the bar end shifters but this was not a problem either.

This carbon thing is getting totally ridiculous and I'll admit to being sucked into it. Bought Kestrel EMS Pro handle bars for my road bike. No difference in shock absorption and heavier than my aluminium bars that I replaced. I'll get the aluminium S bends to go with my aluminium Vision Tech base bar on my aluminium P2K.

the carbon thing is gettng ridiculous. although when i got my carbon hed extensions months ago, i could not believe how light they were. initial material feel had no weight to them..

I'll try and weigh the original extensions and the alloy S bends and see what difference there is....I doubt there is much in it...as there won't be with the carbon S bends probably...carbon does look better IMO...but when you gonna cover a big chunk in tape anyway.
