Chainrings

Looking to see if anyone has any information on chainrings that are larger than a 53t, just want a little bit more bite, Shimano ultegraR800 10spd and SRAM Force 12spd, the sram on I have is a 42t and also would want more teeth there. Can’t seem to find it any where? Custom order?

Thanks in advance

Howdy, Triple Tri.

Here are a couple different sites you could check-out. The first site, Rotor, probably has what you're looking for. The second site, Garbaruk, makes very nice 1x rings but I'm not sure that's what you'll want.

The only 42t SRAM Force 12sp I'm aware of is their 1x, they don't make a 42t for either the small or big ring in 2x (as far as I know), so I assume you're talking 1x. You can go up to 48t in Force or 50t if you go to Red, staying in the SRAM brand.

Bigger than that, you'll have to go off-SRAM, like the other poster suggested. Just watch out to make sure the rings for flattop chain compatible if you're using the SRAM flattop chain.

Following

I've been searching for a 2x AXS chainring bigger than 50t for a long time.
Sram makes the bigger ones, but with built in power and they are a fortune.
Really wish garbruk or someone would make this

I've been eyeing that since a few months, but it's never been in stock so far for sram axs.

Stupidly enough the biggest ring set Alugear sells for Sram is a 48t/34t. Who are they selling to...children?

It may be worth emailing Aero Coach to see if they even make them anymore. Maybe they'll make you a custom 68t/48t combo. I hear the front shifting on those is silky smooth.

Oh I've emailed them (3 times I think). And they don't make them yet is the reply, rather than not any more. I guess the testing batch needed updating or the production is slower than anticipated. They brought the Shimano version out in june(ish) and predicted Sram for August, then shifted to end Oct, now early 2024...

I also asked Alugear at around the same time, and they said they'd come out with a Sram 52/36 around the new year.

We're still working on it, each iteration plus testing just take a little while so apologies about that. We have to have a completely different tooth and ramp design for SRAM to accommodate their front mech so it's taking a bit longer than the Shimano ones, but we have another test set with us which we're checking at the moment. Rest assured there will be something :)

Richard was always very quick and friendly, and I understand many times the tendency is to underestimate those timelines...
I just wish I could have sent you my money already :)

Thank you for the update

What about the 1x as I would think a fair share of consumers are running no front mech

We make Aten 1x AXS in 54t 107bcd 4 bolt already (these are in stock), and the 58s we'll have ready well before the end of the year. I must say it was much easier when everything was the same chain type and 130bcd 5 bolt! :D
