I'm doing Honu. It's 3 or 4 weeks out.

I did IM Florida for mine. Great race but conditions are completely different that IM CDA. For me (2008) it rained on the bike and was hot and extremely humid on the run. I still had a great day in CDA, but my bike was a bit "flat" compared to normal so maybe I blew out my body at Florida? maybe it worked for me? not sure...it is very easy to go extremely hard at Florida b/c of the flat course throughout. So it depends on how hard you want to go and how close to conditions you want to get.

Troika in Spokane WA. Great half, with similar weather. Probably a lot more affordable than St Croix.

troika is after IM CdA so doesnt work well. Although its ez bike will give ya a quick PR!

I would say Oceanside or Wildflower would be a great way to tune up, since you will have enough time to make adjustments if your not happy with where you are at.

You are right, I was thinking of Canada. I have Canada on the brain today. Duh.

I would consider either Wildflower in early May or Honu in early June as ideal 70.3 races. Oceanside in March is another good one if you can signup onsite before it sells out.

how about Kansas 70.3? It's a hot, rolling bike course and it's 3 weeks out from CdA.
