Hello all

I just bought a new road bike and gruppo and I didn't realize that I needed BB30.
I know there is a conversion kit to use a standard crank, but is it only the bottom bracket that changes? I mean, is it the same crank?

I the best world, I could scrap the standard BB I got with the gruppo and buy the BB30 kit and I would be very happy. The crank is a 2010 SRAM red...

You want the BB30 shim for SRAM/Truvativ cranks

You use the BB30 bearings and your Red crank. Its better than a press in adapter for threaded bottom bracket cups as you can always change to a BB30 crank down the track.

argghh shit!

I read that you can save around 100g on the bike with the BB30, and it's stiffer...

I think I'll sale this crank and buy a new one. Or anyone interested in a trade?

Any chance the place you bought the group from (assuming it's a shop or online retailer) will let you swap the standard crank and BB for a BB30 setup?

I asked him, I'm dying to see his answer.

2 choices:
- Refund me the crank (I bought a full red gruppo)
- Swap it for the BB30 version
