I might be behind the eight ball here, but does anyone have any ideas on housing for Beach2Battleship?

We're thinking of driving out from Chicago and taking our lil whippet with us, so the idea of staying someplace "dog friendly" is a huge plus, if it's possible.

Any locals have ideas?
