my screen is like 60%empty lane, 25% cones, 15% bike wheels & legs...

How do you get updates on individual athletes?

you have to wait till 10am . don't know which day though.

Actually, it doesn't seem unreasonable. Cell phones have GPS for 911 calls. A little reprogramming and a phone could dial a special number and report GPS coordinates at regular intervals. A little bike mount and it could take pictures automatically, too.
